Bay of Chaleur
Mowebaktabaak was the first name given to Bay of Chaleur by the Mi’kmaq nation. It is an inlet of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, extending between Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada. It is a submerged valley of the Restigouche River and is 145 km long and 50 km at its widest point.
The warmest saltwater on the Atlantic coast north of the state of Virginia, Bay of Chaleur is fortunate to be in a true temperate climate with four seasons.
