Kujukushima Bay
The Kujukushima Bay is the sea area where where are 208 large and small islands scattered about 25 km north from the outside of the Sasebo port.
Most of them are desert islands that intact nature remains and are designed as a national park.
The intricate coastline of Kujukushima Bay nurtures phytoplankton, and the aquaculture industry produces a variety of seafood such as tiger puffer fish, sea bream, yellowtail, oysters, and pearls from the rich natural bounty.
九十九島湾には佐世保港から北25ｋｍの海域に大小208の島々が広がっています。そのほとんどが無人島であり、西海国立公園に指定を受けています。
また、九十九島湾の入り組んだ海岸線は植物プランクトンを育み養殖業ではトラフグ、鯛、ハマチ、カキ、真珠などの多様な魚介類が自然豊かな恵みを受けて生産されています。
