\u201cDo things with the seriousness of a child at play.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is in the continuity of the work already undertaken that I now take up the torch, with the feeling of continuing a beautiful, sound, and hopeful endeavor\u2014one that is based on an increasingly urgent reality: the necessity and the need to protect our planet, and especially our coasts and bays that we love so dearly.<\/p>\n

Through the actions already carried out, I have seen that we are being taken more and more seriously. Once ahead in our thinking, we are now, sadly, being caught up by reality and by urgency.<\/p>\n

Thus, in Nice, at the Ocean Conference where we were invited as a UN-recognized NGO, I thought I heard speeches echoing ideas we were already advocating several decades ago. I therefore wish to strengthen our presence within international organizations during major events\u2014not only at the United Nations, but also at the IUCN, the COP, the Global Ecotourism Forum, UNESCO and the UNESCO Ocean Decade, UNEP, and others\u2014in order to gain genuine recognition and, above all, to make our voice heard.<\/p>\n

For what matters most is that we join this movement, now that our action is considered essential. And, to keep our lead on this issue, we have had the idea that it is now time to address ourselves primarily to future generations\u2014especially to children\u2014who will inherit our heavy legacy, if not our burden, to bear and, hopefully, to repair.<\/p>\n

An international movement for the education of children\u2014this is now ours to design.<\/p>\n
